Dear Fellow Model Enthusiast,

A lot has happened in my life and for this reason I was unfortunately not able to follow my love of model building. At least the scratch building of models was effected by that. Building plastic models while watching television is something that goes quite good, but the scratch building of special models takes up much more attention and resources.

But now I am back at it again. I have just started to build a brass model from scratch. It is one of those tiny 98ccm light motorbikes, that have been seen often in the streets of the late 1930ies. In this case it is the SL 98, built and sold in 1935 by the "Expresswerke A.G." located at Neumarkt, Germany.

My goal is to replicate the original and its technical features to the closest detail possible. An exception has to be the engine, which will only be replicated as a static device.

The model profits from the fact, that I have just finished the restoration of a original example which serves now as a master pattern for my model work.

But to hell with all this talk! Why donīt you just follwow the progress of the build with your own eyes. For this let me invite you to go to the official website of the Express Interest Association: http://www.express-ig.de/

Although this is a German forum, you may just watch the images provided there. If you want to join the Forum and discuss details of the model with me, feel free to do so. I can respond to your posts in English :-)

And just in case you are interested in the original motorbike and its restoration, just take a look at the relevant pages on the very same website:
